Lessons Learned Simulations and Training is organizing a two-day professional development course focused on simulation.
Participants will learn how long-term displacement scenarios need a mix of development and humanitarian approaches.
Social, political, and economic dynamics will be at the centre of this course.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Communicate possible motivations and goals of people going through displacement, compare and contrast them with common humanitarian assumptions and narratives
Describe and foresee potential breakdowns in international interventions by discussing past examples
Know the link between development and humanitarian practice in long-term crises
Map motivations and goals of various stakeholders in urban refugee response, including those of refugees
