Ethical Humanitarian and Development Practice in Urban Refugee Response

Lessons Learned Simulations and Training is organizing a two-day professional development course focused on simulation. 

Participants will learn how long-term displacement scenarios need a mix of development and humanitarian approaches. 

Social, political, and economic dynamics will be at the centre of this course. 

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

  • Communicate possible motivations and goals of people going through displacement, compare and contrast them with common humanitarian assumptions and narratives 

  • Describe and foresee potential breakdowns in international interventions by discussing past examples 

  • Know the link between development and humanitarian practice in long-term crises 

  • Map motivations and goals of various stakeholders in urban refugee response, including those of refugees
