The Somali diaspora from around the world will be showcased during an exhibition.
The exhibition intends to explore the use of oral history and digital archives in order to keep cultural heritage and collective memory in post-conflict societies.
This conference is part of the Memories of Mogadishu initiative, a multimedia project that studies the use of memory in the reconstruction of a once cosmopolitan city by those who have been displaced.
Memories of Mogadishu Conference 2019 is in partnership with the Ottawa Art Gallery, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), MCIS Language Solutions, Carleton University, TakingITGlobal and Concordia University.
