Mental Wellness Workshop For Frontline Workers Supporting Syrian Refugee

The impact of insecure environment, traumatic incidents,  and chronic stress heavily impacts Syrian refugees.

To help frontline workers better understand them, the Jewish Family Services of ottawa is organizing (JFS) a mental wellness workshop. 

The following topics will be covered: 

  • Understanding Syrian Culture and cross cultural sensitivity

  • Emotional experiences related to migration journey 

  • Impact of war and trauma

  • Recognition of emotional struggles refugees are facing 

  • How to help

  • Worker self-care 

By the end of this workshop, attendees will be able to understand syrian culture, journey, and emotional struggle.
