Serving Newcomers with Limited Formal Education & English Ability

Toronto Local Immigration Partnerships is organizing a workshop that will focus on tools, practices, and considerations that can come in handy when working with newcomers with limited formal education and English ability.

Settlement workers will have a training in We Speak Translate project.

This project, in a nutshell, uses the Google Translate application to get rid of the language barrier by establishing a platform for communication between front-line workers and newcomers until they develop their English.

Participants are requested to bring their smartphone or tablet with Google Translate already downloaded on it.
