Strategies to Secure Affordable Housing for Sponsored Refugees Webinar

Join Allies for Refugee Integration (ARI) for our first webinar on strategies to securing affordable housing for sponsored refugees.

Allies for Refugee Integration (ARI) Webinars bring together settlement workers, sponsors, and sponsored refugees to learn together and from one another. Topics are focused around providing settlement support to privately sponsored refugees in Ontario and aim to promote conversation and learning from personal experience.

In this webinar we will:

  • Hear from a panel of sponsored refugees, housing workers, and sponsors on their personal strategies in securing affordable housing followed by a Q&A
  • Discuss some of the frequently asked questions about housing and sponsorship based on your questions sent in advance

About Allies for Refugee Integration:

Allies for Refugee Integration (Part 1) was a project led by the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigration, in partnership with Refugee 613, from 2018-2021 funded by IRCC, Service Delivery Improvement. To learn more, visit: Allies in Refugee Integration | OCASI.

Allies for Refugee Integration (Part 2) builds on this previous project and is funded by IRCC to run from October 2021- March 2025. This new phase of ARI will have two main activities:

  • Settlement-Sponsor Knowledge Exchange Opportunities: ARI will host two roundtables and three webinars each year that bring settlement and sponsor communities to exchange information and continue to learn how to work better together.
  • Ambassador Agencies: ARI will be recruiting two pairs of SPO-SAHs each fiscal year and supporting them for 10 months to implement an element of the promising practices identified and piloted by ARI; Intentional Connection & Knowledge Exchange. Activities will be evaluated and lessons learned shared in the sector.
