Suitcase/Adrenaline: Leveraging Theatre to Show the Reality of Refugees

Sometimes the reality of refugees can be quite abstract for people who have never walked in their shoes.

To help you better understand their journey and what led them to flee their country, ‎Theatre Mada مسرح مدى‎ is showing Suitcase/Adrenaline.

Made by refugees, the play tells the story of Jaber, a Syran man who is spending his first New Year’s Eve in Canada. While there are bloud cheers and fireworks, the latter recalls how his last holiday was spent under different kinds of explosions.

The play forces the audience to face the harsh reality of refugees by making them ask themselves: what is more difficult: to stay in danger with your loved ones or to live alone in safety?

Suitcase/Adrenaline will be played until the 1st of February 2020

Date: Friday, 31st of January 2020

Time: 7:30 p.m to 9:30 p.m

Venue: Theatre Passe Muraille, 16 Ryerson Avenue, Toronto
