Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations-Canada (UOSSM Canada) is organizing a symposium on trauma-informed care and refugee healthcare.
This symposium aims to address long-term physical effects of trauma and present effective guidelines to assess and manage those conditions.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

Understand the relationship between the experience of trauma and the ensuing impact on long-term physical and psychological functioning

Comprehend how sociocultural context has an influence on the way trauma is experienced and expressed

Screen for common health concerns ranging from bone health to diabetes, in refugees and apply appropriate intervention
