Webinar: Leading the Way in Mental Health Promotion for Refugees and Newcomers

The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants - OCASI invites you to a webinar: Leading the Way in Mental Health Promotion for Refugees and Newcomers.

This webinar will provide an overview of some policies and practices that will promote refugee and newcomer client mental health, as outlined in OCASI's new Mental Health Promotion Guide for Agencies Serving Immigrants and Refugees in Ontario. It will explore practical challenges and solutions that executive directors and managers should consider while leading policy change at the agency level. This webinar is designed for agency executive directors, board members, and management.

The webinar will address the following questions:

  • What is the role of immigrant and refugee serving agencies in promoting clients’ mental health?
  • How can agency leadership help enact organizational change that will promote clients’ mental health?
  • What are some challenges you as agency leadership might face during this process?
  • What are some strategies your agency can use to address these challenges?

Webinars will be designed and facilitated by Across Boundaries, a mental health centre leading the way in providing mental health and addictions support to racialized communities, in collaboration with Dr. Grace-Edward Galabuzi, Associate Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University.
