Refugee Appeal Session


FCJ Refugee Centre is organizing a free orientation for refugee claimants appealing the negative decision to the Refugee Appeal Division (RAD) of the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB).  

This information session will enable refugees to know:

  • What they need to do to appeal their negative decision

  • What documents they need for their appeal

  • What happens during an appeal to the RAD

Refugee Appeal Session

Refugee claimants who received a negative response are invited by FCJ Refugee Centre to an information session.

Participants will be able to learn more on:

  • What they should do if they received a negative decision on their hearing

  • Where they should go if they want to appeal

  • Who can help them prepare an appeal

  • Are they eligible for an appeal

Art Show To Celebrate Refugees

To mark the Refugee Rights Month, FCJ Refugee centre is organizing an art show.

Participants will be able to enjoy an evening of visual art, music, and stories,

This event will also be an opportunity to honour the contributions made by refugees.

Refugee Rights Day 2019

McLaughlin College, the Centre For Refugee Studies (CRS) and its Syrian Response and Refugee Initiative along with the Department of Sociology and Centre for Public Policy are organizing a Refugee Rights Day.

This event aims to reflect on the Refugee Rights Day in Canada and honour the efforts of york-based refugee sponsors.

All while, marking the formal conclusion of York’s Syria Response and Refugee Initiative, a Syrian refugee resettlement and education project hosted by the Centre For Refugee Studies.

This tour aims to prepare you for the refugee hearing and appeal.
