World Refugee Day Launch

Waterloo Region’s community is celebrating the World Refugee Day.

The theme chosen for this year is “Becoming Neighbours”.

Participants will be able to enjoy the following activities:

  • Performances by Gatako singers

  • Art exhibition by refugees

  • Dance workshops for all ages

  • Building a lego neighbourhood brick by brick

Refugee Art Project

The Toronto Global Shapers is organizing the Refugee Art Project, a multimedia showcase that will feature art and live performances.

This event supports Love Without Borders, a grassroots organization that helps refugees in Greek camps get access to shelters and housing communities.

All while providing them with a platform to raise awareness on the conditions they live in.

Finding The Right Exhibition opportunities for refugees

Incoming! Is a project for refugees artist by  Hamilton Artists Inc, a non-for-profit artist-run centre.

The NGO is organizing its first professional practice workshop.

The workshop aims to teach refugees how to find the right exhibition opportunities and how to prepare a successful application.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Finding galleries

  • Exhibiting their art
