Webinar: Bridging Programs for Internationally Educated Professionals (IEPs)

OCASI is pleased to invite you to the upcoming webinar for Settlement Service Providers: Bridging Programs for Internationally Educated Professionals (IEPs)

Objective:

Learn about sector-specific bridging programs that support IEPs to find jobs that are commensurate with your clients' background, education, and work experience to integrate into the Canadian workforce.

Presenter Institutions:

• The Career Foundation: has three different OBTP designed to provide them with sector-specific training focused on their work and educational experience outside of Canada. The goal is to deliver tailored training to equip ITIs with the requirements for licensure and or/registration in regulated professions, and non-regulated high-skill occupations.  
  Participants are provided workplace communication and pre-employment skills including, certifications, individualized coaching to ensure success in the Canadian workforce in the trades: HVAC and Network Cabling.
• ACCES Employment: offers several sector-specific programs that support internationally trained professionals to find work in their field that reflects their experience. Each program provides customized sector-specific training designed to orient clients to their sector in Canada. Employers in each sector are actively engaged in developing, participating in and recruiting from the program. ACCES available Bridge Programs: Technology, Banking and Finance, Sales and Marketing, Human Resources, Engineering, Healthcare, and Supply Chain.
• JVS Newcomer Pathways into Skilled Trades Pilot Project : is a program designed to support individuals with international experience in the skilled trades and prepare them for the Trade Equivalency Assessment (TEA) by working with and advocating for internationally trained tradespeople to get their TEA challenge exam. The program focuses on the Construction, Industrial, Motive Power, Manufacturing and Service sectors and supports every step until the participant gains the Red Seal or Certificate of Qualifications they need to start working in Ontario.
• Mennonite Life Center: offers four bridging programs to help internationally trained professionals continue with their professional career in Canada. Participants receive one-to-one support from an Employment Counsellor, Workplace Communications classes, specific technical skills, professional networking, industry knowledge, and guidance to each of our four industries: Mental Health, Media and Communications, Human Services, Women in Coding, focused on Python coding.
