Ottawa LGBTQI+ Newcomer Support Forum

Capital Rainbow Refuge and Refugee 613 are inviting you to the upcoming Ottawa LGBTQI+ Newcomer Support Forum 

The forum will address the unique challenges LGBTQI+ newcomers face in Ottawa and provide a space to explore how we can create solutions together as a community. 

The interactive program will include various presentations, Q&A sessions, training opportunities from experts in the field, breakout session discussions, and networking opportunities, including a delicious lunch to share in the community.

Objectives:

• Raise awareness of the unique challenges and barriers LGBTQI+ newcomers face in Ottawa
• Understand service gaps and opportunities
• Learn about LGBTQI+ services in Ottawa and where clients can access support
• Build solidarity and strengthen networks of people and organizations supporting LGBTQI+ refugees and other newcomers 
• Learn about trauma-informed, ethical and sensitive service delivery for newcomers and the services available in Ottawa
• Leave with concrete ideas for better partnerships and ways to work together.
