OCASI Roundtable: Youth Active Citizenship: Engaging Newcomer Youth
OCASI, in collaboration with North York Community House (NYCH), invites you to join the upcoming roundtable: Youth Active Citizenship: Engaging Newcomer Youth
About the event
This roundtable brings together immigrant, migrant, and refugee youth and service providers who work with them to discuss their experiences of engaging in ‘active citizenship.’
This event aims to highlight how engaging young people in active citizenship has a particular set of requirements. Specifically, engaging youth needs to include creative approaches to participation like using art, sports, field trips, etc. This roundtable will ask speakers and participants to discuss how to successfully engage youth in active citizenship.
Speakers
- Ousama Alkhatib: Manager of Youth Initiatives for World Education Services.
- Sukhpreet Sangha: Public Legal Education Manager at LEAF, the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund.
- Nada Al Baradan: She is a community organizer, volunteer, artist, and a student at the University of Toronto.
