The OCASI Mental Health Promotion Project (MHP) invites you to the upcoming workshop,"Caring for You While Caring for the Client: A Workshop on Compassion."

About this Workshop

Social service workers often face the dual challenge of extending compassion to their clients while managing their own stress and emotional well-being. This workshop uses experiential learning to address these interconnected needs holistically.

Part 1 - The Compassionate Self: The first part of the workshop focuses on self-compassion, a crucial yet often overlooked element for professionals in emotionally demanding roles. Participants will learn practical techniques to cultivate self-compassion, understand its necessity, and develop a sustainable self-care routine.

Part 2 - Compassion for Clients: The second hour explores effective methods for extending compassion to clients without experiencing emotional exhaustion. It provides strategies for setting healthy boundaries while maintaining a strong connection with those in your care.

The workshop offers practical tools and techniques designed to balance the expression of compassion for oneself and for others. It aims to introduce participants to the skills they need for an emotionally sustainable worklife, grounded in their own innate human capacity for compassion.
