Join for a series of hands-on art workshops designed for newcomer migrant women and gender-diverse people every Thursday afternoon in November.
You’ll explore traditional and contemporary craft techniques, in a creative space for learning, relaxing, and connectong.
Activities
- Yo-Yo Quilting: Dive into this classic North American quilting technique, perfect for adding texture and character to pillows and covers.
- Fabric Painting: Experiment with fabric paints to create unique designs on cloth, enhancing your artistic skills while personalizing your creations.
- DIY Fabric Projects: Learn to make scrunchies and other simple, fun accessories from fabric, sparking creativity in sustainable fashion.
- Eggshell Mosaic Art: Create intricate mosaic designs using recycled eggshells, an eco-friendly art form that brings delicate beauty to your work.
- Mixed Media Techniques: Discover diverse painting methods and mixed-media applications, allowing freedom to explore your artistic expression.
Each workshop welcomes beginners, and materials are provided. Come explore, create, and connect in a supportive, vibrant environment!

- Carolina Gajardo is a skilled visual artist and dedicated community educator.
- Loly Rico is the founder of the FCJ Refugee Centre and a trained physiotherapist.
