  • Enhance your understanding of the barriers faced by survivors with precarious immigration status and how to address them effectively

About our facilitator:

Chiara Andrea Rossi is the Anti-Human Trafficking Women’s Program Coordinator at the FCJ Refugee Centre, where she supports migrant women and gender-diverse people who have experienced human trafficking and gender-based violence. She provides immigration assistance, access to wraparound services, and a safe space for healing while promoting resilience. She integrates trauma-informed, anti-oppressive practices into her work to ensure meaningful support. Furthermore, Chiara conducts survivor-led research to promote equitable resource distribution and guide inclusive service provision. Grounded in the voices of those she supports, she engages with a steering committee of migrant women with lived experience and fosters peer-to-peer mentorship to drive systemic change.

The FCJ Refugee Centre Overview

The FCJ Refugee Centre helps uprooted people overcome the challenges of rebuilding their lives in Canadian society. With an open-door approach, the Centre offers an integrated model of refugee protection, settlement services and education, including shelter for women and their children.

The Anti-Human Trafficking Team at the FCJ Refugee Centre offers holistic, survivor-centred services to people who have experienced trafficking. Recognizing the diverse and complex needs of survivors, we provide guidance through legal and immigration processes, settlement and recovery, ensuring people are informed and empowered to steer their own course out of the trafficking experience.
