Webinar: Building Knowledge on Gender-Based Violence in the Housing Market

OCASI / Initiative to End Gender-Based Violence in partnership with Women Abuse Council of Toronto (WomenACT) is pleased to invite you to an interactive webinar on how service providers can better support survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) navigating the housing market.

Survivors face unique challenges to housing and require more housing options when leaving violence, including remaining in existing private rental, or moving directly to new private rental. This webinar will be followed by a roundtable discussion on the services available for the survivors and how the support can be improved.

Course Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the experiences and challenges of survivors of gender-based violence in accessing and residing in private rental housing
  • Learn about the rights of survivors as tenants
  • Describe hidden homelessness and its impacts on survivors of gender-based violence
  • Recognize how service providers can better support survivors navigating the housing market

We welcome all service providers that work directly and indirectly with survivors of GBV to participate!
