Webinar: Intersections Between Employment & Safety Among Racialized Women in Toronto

Webinar 1: Intersections Between Employment and Safety Among Racialized Women in Toronto

OCASI / Initiative to End Gender-Based Violence in collaboration with Women Abuse Council of Toronto (WomenACT) is pleased to bring you a two-part webinar series on how service providers can better support immigrant and refugee women with intersecting identities.

Canada’s labour market is gendered, racialized and consistently unequal. Intimate partner violence (IPV) is closely connected to women's economic security, including their income, employment, and housing.

Course Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn how intimate partner violence, trauma and racial discrimination intersect and combine when racialized survivors seek and try to maintain their employment
  2. Engage in interactive case scenarios and solutions
  3. How service providers can better support survivors in employment

We welcome all service providers that work directly and indirectly with survivors of GBV to participate!

About WomenACT:

Woman Abuse Council of Toronto (WomanACT) is a non-profit organization that works to eradicate gender-based violence through research, education and advocacy.
