Family-based permanent residence pathway for people affected by the conflict in Sudan

This program offers people affected by the conflict in Sudan a new pathway to migrate to Canada. The program will accept up to 3,250 applications from eligible applicants and families.

Ottawa, February 23, 2024 - As the conflict in Sudan deteriorates, affecting the safety and well-being of its people, Canada is stepping in to help. IRCC has introduced a new humanitarian pathway for Sudanese and non-Sudanese nationals who were residing in Sudan when the conflict began on April 15, 2023, allowing them to permanently reunite with family in Canada.

This pathway opened on February 27, 2024. Eligible people include children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents, or siblings of Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are committed to supporting their relatives' new start in Canada.
