About this Workshop
The core workshop "Stress and Self-Care in Context" encourages participants to explore collectively some of the major stressors that impact their daily lives, understanding stress not only as an individual factor but as a social phenomenon rooted in specific socio-economic conditions. Participants will explore self-care strategies and practical tools appropriate to manage their stress.
Learning Outcomes:
- Define: Stress, stressors and other related terminology
- Understand: The stress response system and symptoms of stress on the body
- Unpack: Types of stress and stress hormones
- Identify: The beneficial use of short-term stress
- Tools: Various methods on dealing with stressful situations and self-care practices
- Advocate: Importance of Self-Care
