What should I do if the refugee I sponsored is arriving next week, but I’m not ready for them?
If you’re part of a Constituent Group, contact the sponsorship agreement holder (SAH) to help you prepare.
Any other sponsor group unable to support a refugee they agreed to sponsor must contact immediately IRCC’s Resettlement Operations Centre – Ottawa (ROC-O) at IRCC.INROCO-CORORI.IRCC@cic.gc.ca
As a sponsor, you must be prepared to support the refugees you sponsor when they arrive in Canada. This includes:
- making arrangements to meet them when they arrive
- resettling them in your community
- integrating them into your community
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requires all private sponsor groups to submit a settlement plan as part of their private sponsorship application.
