How do we Create Positive Spaces for LGBTQIA+ Refugees?

LGBTQIA+ people represent a large, but often invisible, part of immigrant and refugee communities. Immigrant and refugee organizations have an obligation and responsibility to provide relevant, effective, and appropriate services to these immigrants and refugees, who are often marginalized within multiple communities.

The settlement process is particularly challenging for newcomer refugees with disabilities. This is because our communities and workplaces often have barriers that make things more complex for people with disabilities. Learning to welcome and serve them is an ongoing process.
